Announcement About the 2020 Shadow’s Edge Season
With the ongoing health concerns due to Covid-19/Coronavirus, many local and national events/concerts/shows have had to make the difficult decision to postpone or cancel their plans for 2020.
The Shadow’s Edge has been monitoring our local situation very closely and with health department regulations and guidelines changing constantly, the uncertainty of the exact regulations and guidelines we will have to adhere to, to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all patrons, actors and staff, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to postpone our 16th season until 2021.
The Health and Safety of our patrons and staff has always been our number one priority. We have read and researched what other haunts and attractions throughout the nation, are doing to prepare to try and open this fall. Some states simply are not allowing events like ours to open. Most attractions plan to practice standard social distancing in the queue line, limiting the number of patrons each night, using a “timed ticketing” plan to control the amount of patrons at one time on property, having patrons and actors wear face coverings and removing all materials and props that would be touched or handled by patrons. Some are going as far as to take patrons temperatures and having patrons fill out a short health questionnaire before entering the attraction. And even then, being allowed to actually open is still in question
We feel that with the amount of precautions that we would need to take and the amount of changes we would have to make to the attraction to produce a “clean and sterile” environment for our patrons would result in the show that would suffer drastically and would be a stripped down version of what we’ve been so proud to present over the last 15 years. We also build The Shadows Edge every year from the ground up and would need to start construction by the end of July. The process takes 7 to 8 weeks and with such a large lead time and amount of work to produce our show, we needed to make this decision asap
There is no possible way to predict what the city, state, or national guidelines will be for events such as ours to help with the continued effort to contain and prevent the spread of Covid-19 and how that would affect all of us. We hope that our amazing loyal patrons, fans, and awesome actors and staff understand that we have tried to wait as long as possible before making this difficult decision.
We ask that everyone remain positive and safe and continue to be the best we can be in the face of such uncertain times. We will see you in the fall of 2021!!! Thank you for your continued support!
